Definition
Email bounce rate is the percentage of sent emails that could not be delivered to recipients. It's calculated as (bounced emails / total sent emails) x 100. A healthy bounce rate is under 2%. High bounce rates damage your sender reputation and can lead to being blacklisted. Bounce rate includes both hard bounces (permanent failures) and soft bounces (temporary failures). Regular list cleaning and email verification help maintain low bounce rates.
