A role-based email address is associated with a job function or department rather than a specific individual. Examples include info@, support@, sales@, admin@, and webmaster@. These addresses often have multiple recipients and higher complaint rates because the people monitoring them didn't personally opt in to receive your emails. Many email marketers avoid sending to role-based addresses or treat them as higher risk.
