Email Deliverability Term

DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail)

An email authentication method that adds a digital signature to verify message integrity.

Definition

DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) is an email authentication method that adds a cryptographic signature to outgoing emails. This signature is verified by the receiving server using a public key published in the sender's DNS records. DKIM proves that the email hasn't been tampered with in transit and genuinely originated from the claimed domain. Each email service you use will have its own DKIM key, identified by a "selector" in the DNS record.
